New PB At The Honey Hole
I hit up my honey hole "Area 51" again this evening. The night started out slow and pretty crappy, but eventually turned into one of my best nights out fishing all year. After throwing different baits in a spot that I had caught fish at before, I decided to move to another spot, not expecting much. What followed was friggin' awesome. The spot had runoff from a river running into it, and I threw a swim jig directly into the current. After maybe two second I felt the lure get slammed, and the rod bent like crazy. I set the hook on the beast and had a great fight with him and then finally dragged him on shore. I got my pictures and weighed him, 4.52 pounds. A great bass by any standard. I released him, but the action didn't end there. The fishing gods rewarded me with a 3.5 pounder less than two minutes after I released the first. After pictures and a release on that larry, a Third one slammed me maybe two or three minutes after that one. I didn't weigh him but he looked to be about 3 pounds. After that one, the action died other than some bluegills and white perch by my brother. It didn't matter, though, because this had to be my best night of bassin' in a long time.
