My first time out was 3/27 when a buddy of mine told me about a pond that was 90% open water due to having a little current. I started out fishing a steep dropping bank with a jig, jerbait, and a float and fly but no hits. I then hit another area thats a little shallower with brush and laydowns along the shorline, Only managed one bass on a jig but it was around 5lbs, didn't have the scale that day.

Wen't out this past Sunday and only got one bass slow rolling a blade bait, again it was a pig and i had the scale this time, she wen't 5lb 11oz. Wen't out for a little bit on Monday and got 2 bass, one was about 2lbs on a jerkbait and the other went 3lb 1oz on the blade bait. Havn't been doing good for numbers but the quality has somewhat made up for it. All trips were from shore and only for 1-2 hours.

Ended up doing a lot of ice fishing this winter to keep my sanity, and gotta say i really enjoyed it. I just jigged, no tilts. Got a lot of bass in the 1-2lb range and my biggest three bass of the season were 3lbs, 3lb13oz, and one that i didn't have the scale for sadly but was all of 5lbs, and i caught all of them on a ultralight panfish jiggin rod with 2lb test outa 20+ fow, was a lot of fun. Also got a lot of crappie with my personal best that went between 2lb7oz and 2lb 8oz on two different digital scales. Definitely ready for some open water now!

me and my dad started off throwing jigs and jerkbaits for the first 2 hours but they weren't interested so i figured i'd give a kvd 1.5 crankbait a try even tho i didn't really think it was gonna work, but i picked up a small keeper pretty quick so we put everything else down and just started throwing the crank and we picked up 8 bass on it in the next 2 hours, most were small keepers but i was lucky enough to get a nice one that went 5.31 on the rapala digital

Me and my dad hit webster lake for just about 4 hours today. I caught 4 bass all between 2 and 3lbs and he got one that went 2lb 13oz all on blade baits in depths of 13'-25'.

Water temp was 39 just about everywhere. I didn't want to do it, but with the cold temps on the 10 day forcast i had to winterize the boat when i got home, so i guess thats my last time out in the boat this year.

hit the lake for 45 min this morning before i wen't to my doctors appointment, I only brought one rod with a float and fly and got one nice larry that went 3lb 4oz on the digital and a decent size pickerel probably around 2lb. It was freezing cold and most of the lake had skim ice but luckily one of the spots i usually fish this time of year was open.

Did a little fishing off shore today. Got to the water at 7:20, picked up 3 bass around 2lb 2.5lb 1.5lb on the jerkbait and had one get off in about a hour and 20 min. then i went home, had some breakfast and went to another lake off shore from about 9:30-10:30

When i showed up i see the whole west shoreline and most of the south end is covered with skim ice, but luckily i was planning to fish the east shoreline anyway and it was thawed, I'm guessing because of the west winds we've had the past couple days. a few casts in with the jerkbait i get a nice hit right on the drop that goes from about 6ft-12ft and got one of the fattest bass i've ever caught (pic does the fish no justice) he was 18.5''. he actually fought really hard much to my surprise for the water being so cold.

I fished that area for about an hour and picked up one fat 12'' smallie. The snow started coming down really hard so i called it a day. 5 bass between the two spots in about 2.5 hours with water temps somewhere in the 30's i'm guessing, It was a good day on the water and there was hardly any wind at all which made the cold temps tolerable.

went to a small local pond around 100 acres, and fished from the bank, got there at 8:00 and had to leave the fish biting at 9:00, air temp was only 38 deg according to my car.

I only covered an area about 50 yards and that was all it took. the pond usually has a lot of weeds by mid summer but now it just has little patches of nice green weeds.I caught all my fish on a luckycraft pointer 90 and pointer 65 with 4-7 second pauses, and ia have found that if you don't need to get the bait real deep, than braided line with a 3ft froro leader is the way to go, you feal and see every bite.

I didn't have the scale but I think you'll agree with my estamates. Hears a list of the size bass i caught and ill post pics off all the ones over 2lb
5+lb

got on the water around 10 and was off by 2. In the first 2 hours i landed three nice solid smallies and missed one that looked massive 4+ anyday. It was about ten feet down when it came off but it sure looked like a smallie, might have been a largemouth i suppose. smallest i'm guessing was around 2lb, next biggest 17'' and had a nice belly probably 2.75 and the biggest was a 18'' brute, 3+lb

water temp 44

caught fish between 25-30ft

fished from 1:00 to 4:20 today with my dad. Started off throwing the jerkbait up shallow on the shoreline where the sun was hitting probably 5 casts in i get a good wack and pull in a chunky 3lb2oz lmb soon after i get a 13". fished the jb in a few other spots got one other wack but i set the hook and he musta spit it. Meanwhile dad was getting cranky because he hadn't caught anything so i hooked him up with a blade bait and we started fishing in some deeper spots and he ended up catching 2 smallies around 1.5lb and droped one close to the boat and i caught two smallies around that size as well. Was there a couple days ago and caught 10 bass in 4 hours, so today was kinda slow with only 6 bass landed between the two of us but it was a nice day anyway
